Critical Buffer Overflow Hits Wavlink Routers
A critical stack-based buffer overflow in the Wavlink WL-NU516U1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a manipulated CONTENT_LENGTH header.
A critical vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2026-18588, has been identified in the Wavlink WL-NU516U1 router running firmware version 708c073-mt7628. This flaw resides in the nas.cgi file and is triggered by improper handling of the CONTENT_LENGTH argument, which leads to a stack-based buffer overflow.
