DataBahn Secures $40 Million for Pipeline
The Texas-based startup aims to advance its agentic data control plane following a successful Series B funding round.
The infrastructure underlying modern enterprise data management is undergoing a structural shift, as organizations struggle to manage the sheer volume of information feeding into AI models and security systems. DataBahn, a firm established in 2023, is positioning its technology to address these challenges by automating how data is collected, governed, and routed across diverse environments.
Building an Agentic Control Plane
The company recently announced a $40 million Series B funding round, which increases its total capital raised to $59 million. Based in Texas, the startup focuses on creating a data fabric that provides real-time visibility into complex environments, ranging from operational technology (OT) and IoT devices to standard application and security logs.
DataBahn’s core offering is an agentic data control plane. Unlike traditional passive integration tools, this platform is designed to actively govern and orchestrate data. It aims to reduce operational costs by filtering and enriching data before it reaches its destination, ensuring that only necessary information is routed for use by AI models or security tools.
Strategic Capital and Expansion
The latest investment was led by Insight Partners, with significant participation from existing stakeholders. This group of return investors includes Forgepoint, GTM Capital, and S3 Ventures. The company intends to direct these resources toward research and development efforts, specifically targeting product innovation for its control plane technology.
The next generation of enterprise infrastructure won’t be built around moving more data—it will be built around intelligently orchestrating the right data at the right time. We believe every enterprise will need an agentic data control plane that continuously reduces, enriches, governs and activates enterprise data for both applications and AI.

Data Management Metrics
- $40 million raised in the latest Series B funding round.
- $59 million in total funding accumulated since the company's 2023 founding.
- Support provided by four primary venture firms, including Insight Partners.
Implications for Data Infrastructure
The influx of capital into agentic data management could suggest a broader industry transition toward active, automated orchestration rather than simply increasing storage capacity. For enterprises, this shift highlights a potential move toward reducing the technical debt associated with massive, unrefined data pipelines. As firms continue to integrate AI into their operational workflows, the ability to control data provenance, governance, and routing in real-time may become a standard requirement for maintaining secure and efficient infrastructure.
