Startup Natural secures $30 million to build financial infrastructure specifically for the autonomous agent economy.

While these digital assistants can execute sophisticated tasks at high speed, the underlying financial infrastructure remains tethered to human-centric protocols designed for manual authorization.
Rebuilding Payment Infrastructure Systems
Natural, founded in 2025 by Kahlil Lalji, Eric Wang, and Walt Leung, aims to bridge this gap by acting as an agent orchestration layer. Unlike standard credit card networks or ACH systems, which require human input, Natural’s platform is engineered to allow AI agents to independently store funds, collect payments, and manage transactions with both human users and other autonomous agents.
The company recently secured $30 million in Series A funding, led by Forerunner, bringing its total capital raised to $40 million. This infusion of cash supports a broader goal of redesigning payment systems from the ground up, including new approaches to managing disputed transactions.
Competing With Established Fintech Giants
Natural is positioning its service as a direct challenger to established payment incumbents like Stripe. By recruiting engineering talent from major firms such as Ramp, Square, and Stripe itself, the startup intends to move faster than traditional financial institutions to capture the emerging market for agent-to-agent commerce.
